Maxwood’s ‘wow factor’ washrooms specified for london’s latest commercial development
‘Wow factor’ washrooms from Maxwood are part of the stunning specification of 10 Hammersmith Grove (South Building), one of London’s latest commercial developments, built by Wates Construction.
The bespoke washrooms, manufactured and installed by Maxwood, feature clean lines and clever use of glass and mirror panels to reflect the new building’s cool, contemporary styling. Installed on each of the eight upper floors, the washrooms feature full height, flush fronted cubicles, vanity units and matching accessories. Maxwood also supplied ground floor shower and changing facilities.
As part of a full service package for large scale projects like 10 Hammersmith Grove, Maxwood built a prototype washroom in its factory, giving the client and developer an opportunity to view and discuss design detailing before work commenced on site. Shower and changing cubicles were specified in line with the Government’s scheme to encourage those working in busy urban areas to cycle to the office. Male and female facilities, incorporating showers and WCs, were manufactured from Maxwood’s solid grade laminate (SGL) Marin XT range, which offers total privacy plus excellent durability and water-resistance for wet, humid areas. Completing this area are benches with solid Ash timber laths and Maxwood Oracle Z-lockers in crisp, grey SGL, offering secure storage for hanging outdoor clothes and other personal items.
On floors one to eight of 10 Hammersmith Grove, Maxwood’s office washroom package comprised Marante cubicle systems with the Maxwall Duct Panelling system, Xeista vanity units (hand basins) and all matching accessories, including paper towel dispensers, waste bins and toilet roll holders. The Xeista units were made from hygienic, moisture resistant material in an attractive combination of Hanex Pure Arctic tops and Alpine White Hi-Macs bowls. In male washrooms with urinals the Maxwall system featured a ceramic tile finish to the front. The washrooms’ monochrome colour scheme is complemented by Oak laminated cubicle doors, while the light, open feel of the interiors is enhanced with recessed lighting and mirror splashbacks. As an additional service at Hammersmith Grove, Maxwood provided ‘setting out’ for other trades such as dry-liners and tilers to work to, which assisted timely completion.
Made-to-measure for each installation Maxwood’s Maxwall system makes running of pipework and mounting of sanitaryware in washrooms quick, easy and secure. Ducting units are delivered to site in factory-assembled modular frames ready to be installed within stud-wall cavities or surface mounted with a box frame unit. Once installed, Maxwall assists easy cleaning and maintenance.
Maxwood’s washrooms for 10 Hammersmith Grove demonstrate the company’s ability to work with architects and contractors to create bespoke, workable solutions through innovative design and the use of premium materials which deliver style with functionality.
