During Clekenwell Week we hosted a talk at our Washroom Studio by Saskia Frewer, from business and brand agency Benubi. Saskia shared fascinating insights and perspectives on the future of washroom design.
She outlined the importance of understanding people and their approach, perceptions and traditions regarding personal hygiene, beauty and well-being. She was clear that without understanding the ideology and cultural and spiritual nuances, the washroom space will remain an ordinary toilet and not be fit for the future.
As more and more businesses now include ‘workspace’ as a critical pillar in their business performance strategy, and the accept that priorities, investments and aesthetics can’t simply change for the most private of spaces, the restroom – it is certainly an exciting time to be shaping the future of washroom design.
As Saskia pointed out, the future of washroom design goes beyond aesthetics and colour, material or design fads and will be anchored in fundamental architectural and mega-consumer trends.
